The future of Canada

The future of Canada is more than ever interracial and multicultural. According to a Statistics Canada new analysis, visible minorities (i.e. non white) represent more than 16% of the population, more than doubling in 15 years. What I find remarkable is the fast growing number of mixed relationships in the country:

Nearly 300,000 Canadians were involved in mixed marriages or mixed common-law relationships in 2006, a rise of nearly 30 per cent since 2001 [Globe And Mail]

This is good news. I strongly believe that mixed societies have a major comparative advantage in the global economy. An egalitarian society that manages to peacefully integrate different races and cultures is much stronger and progressive than a homogeneous one.
